I got bored with the wallpaper collection I had and decided to design some of my own for each day in the office. Brushes from Jason Gaylor. You may download them as per link specified. If you would like any of them bigger than a typical 1024 x 768 pixels version, email me.
I’m curious which design would be the most popular amongst visitors of my humble blog. Care to vote?
1. It’s not you, it’s me.

2. Gossip in the bushes

3. See you at a quarter to seven.

4. Let’s get lost

5. Flower from God

Definitely number two. Loved the visual contrast — the quirkiness is adorable.

4 and 5 are gorgeous!!!
shianux // June 4, 2007 at 3:06 am
I love all of them, but could you make widescreen versions? Preferably 1440×900. for my macbookpro.

Number one.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 11:55 am
Thanks Pee, I’m flattered considering that you’re an art director.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 11:56 am
Shianux: sure thing. Email me at pat@bypatlaw.com and I’ll send the bigger files to you.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 11:56 am
Midnight, I’m actually surprised. Thought you’d go for number three.

Mel, thank you for using number 5 as your wallpaper.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 12:15 pm
pee: huh? really? hmmm.. sorry I’ve got it wrong!
Mels // June 4, 2007 at 12:16 pm
Love number two. The floral meets speech bubbles effect does it for me. ‘Gos in the bushes’ - very cute
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 12:20 pm
I have 2 Mels? Wow, I’m a lucky motherfucker. Heh heh heh. Midnight, how many Mels do YOU have?
smudgi3 // June 4, 2007 at 1:03 pm
I’d go for 2 and 4. Luckily I have 2 laptops. Muahahaha.
Mels // June 4, 2007 at 1:48 pm
This is cracking me up! Hell yeah, Pat you are a lucky motherfucker! (can’t believe i just said that). What are the odds of that happening, in your same blog entry i might add
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 3:29 pm
Thank god I’m dating neither of you, or I’d be in deep shit. Still, nice having 2 Mels in my life. Haha.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 3:32 pm
Smudgi3, you’re too kind.
Number three // June 4, 2007 at 4:43 pm
I’m plastered on Ling’s laptop.
Pat Law // June 4, 2007 at 7:44 pm
I can officially say Ling has a piece of me in her life.
Nigel // June 4, 2007 at 8:48 pm
Babe, love number 5.
Wrenna // June 5, 2007 at 12:35 am
Just coz you asked: My pick would be gossip in the bushes. Nice designs overall though, good work x
Pete Aldin // June 5, 2007 at 6:21 am
They are all awesome!
Elizabeth // June 5, 2007 at 6:31 am
Two and five…although they are all very, very good. I like your vision.

Let’s get lost - I like the difference in detail sizes, and the additional blue dots travelling in the background.
pee // June 5, 2007 at 1:15 pm
No biggie — if it counts, I art direct words in me lil pointy head.
Oh, mixtape over at my site. Have fun with ‘em.
lin // June 5, 2007 at 2:51 pm
i downloaded and used no. 2 but somehow it looked wrong on my notebook. grar!
nonetheless, i really like no. 4. there’s just something about it, with its simple caption, that makes me feel like home.
p.s hope you don’t get freaked out by lurking readers.
likeafuckinvirgin // June 5, 2007 at 3:45 pm
Number 2 for me. It has the Celia Birtwell quirkiness i’ve always adored.
malcolm816 // June 5, 2007 at 5:17 pm
So strange, I’ve been thinking about the phrase, “It’s Not You, It’s Me” all day today and then I just happened to open to those words on your page… Er, anyway. My vote is for “Let’s Get Lost,” actually.
smakula // June 5, 2007 at 6:19 pm
I would go for number 3
fREn // June 5, 2007 at 6:30 pm
Number 4. That gradient is awesome

I like No.3 and 4!
Brian // June 5, 2007 at 11:21 pm
I really like all of them, but in terms which I’d most likely actually use, it’d have to be #2, followed by #3.
Man, these are inspirational. They make me want to play with photoshop, deadlines be damned. Anything that makes me want to do something out of the ordinary qualifies as art in my book!
Keep up the good work! (As if you needed me to say that…
Brian // June 5, 2007 at 11:25 pm
Holy crap, I just looked through a few other posts and your stuff is awesome. You’re going into my Google Reader. Don’t try to fight it.
Any chance you can hook me up with “Gossip in the bushes” that’ll work for two monitors?
erikcurtis // June 6, 2007 at 2:47 am
If I had to pick one, I pick #2. But they are all a bit too girl’ish for me.
outeasy // June 6, 2007 at 3:20 am
WoW! Can you believe the weather? Thank you for this!
Pat Law // June 6, 2007 at 10:54 am
Hey Brian,
Aww. Thanks for your comments. Sure thing, just email me at pat@bypatlaw.com and I’ll send the wallpaper in a bigger size to you.
Pat Law // June 6, 2007 at 10:55 am
Lin, I don’t mind lurking readers at all, unless they come stalking outside my apartment. Then again, if they are to do that, I’d probably ask them to buy me a pizza or something while at it.
Pat Law // June 6, 2007 at 10:58 am
Wrenna, pay me and I’ll design one for both you and your bf.
Pat Law // June 6, 2007 at 10:58 am
outeasy, what fucking weather? Huh?
Pat Law // June 6, 2007 at 11:01 am
malcolm816, we are all suckers aren’t we?
dinsan // June 6, 2007 at 8:40 pm
good job !!!
Jords // June 8, 2007 at 12:45 am
That is really nice, I’m really impressed. How did you make those, what programmes/tools did you use?
k // June 8, 2007 at 2:45 pm
yay. new wallpapers for the weekend.
Pat Law // June 9, 2007 at 12:13 am
Hi Jords,
I used mainly Photoshop CS and a dose of passion.
Jords // June 10, 2007 at 2:59 am
hehe, nice.
Only, I’ve just started with photoshop and i’ve always wanted to create thigns like this.
Do you draw the designs then scan them in, or design them on photoshop.
boccia // June 11, 2007 at 5:59 pm
I’m a graphic design, and in my opinion the first is the best, but without the yellow pattern on the right.. colours don’t mix well
dianabobar // June 11, 2007 at 7:41 pm
they are amaing!
Wrenna // June 12, 2007 at 10:15 am
One of me and my boy? We’re so not that kind of couple who put each other’s faces on the desktop. My wallpaper casually switches from kate moss to boring apple ones. And I sure ain’t paying for something I’m not even gonna really look at. Nice try though haha.
gar // June 18, 2007 at 9:07 am
Since I’m boring and am partial to black, white, and -oh yes- the shade known as “grey”… I’ll go with #3.
They’re all quite nice, tho… there’s almost a seasonal feeling to them (spring - summer - winter - fall - spring?).
RaQ // June 21, 2007 at 8:52 pm
hey babe(:
I love all 5 so i shall download it all but i suppose it’d be #3 and #4 most times((:
thank you for creating such pretty things!
sandra // September 5, 2007 at 3:55 am
I think number five is the best. I am having a hectic day and it made me stop and smile. thanks.
Pat Law // September 7, 2007 at 7:46 pm
Any time, sandra…

Do you have higher res available of these images (especially 4)? They get a bit ‘rough’ when I use them full screen. Thank you.

Number one is great!!!!
